    Clean and tidy up Titford Canal and Pools

    We join Langley Waterside Care to help clean up Titford Canal and towpath.

    Meet at Langley Park Lodge Community Centre on Langley High Street.

    Wear sturdy footware.  Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.  All kit needed is provided.

    Join us on the first Saturday of every month, from 10:30 to 12:30

    WRG work camp at Selly Oak

    Last summer WRG volunteers started work to repair the towpath wall at Harborne Wharf.

    Over the years the wall has deteriorated significantly with brickwork missing and several sections being undermined.In 2017 they will continue repair work, strengthen existing foundations and repair damaged brickwork.

    Volunteers will also clear vegetation around the Selly Oak Park Bridge, one of the oldest surviving original canal bridges in Birmingham, in preparation for archaeological investigations.

    Led by Ian Gaston, with accommodation at Stonehouse Gang Youth Club.

    A Walk with Ray Shill - Smethwick

    On Thursday 3rd August 7pm meet at Brasshouse Lane Bridge, Smethwick on the tow path.

    Parking is in Brasshouse Lane environs or better still use the train to Rolfe Street and it's a short walk to the bridge.

    Although very little of the industrial past is still visible Ray will tell us what was there along with an explanation of the three levels of canals at Smethwick.
